A welcome arrangement of a popular concerto! Evan Halloin, bassist in the Kansas City Symphony, has written a wonderful new edition of this great bass concerto. Written in a minor (for a soloist using orchestra tuning strings), this concerto is based on Bottesini's own version in c minor; written for a reduced orchestra of only strings and solo bass (using the obsolete scordatura of a solo tuning up a minor third!). It is in three movements: Moderato, Andante and an Allegro finale. Beautifully engraved; printed on luxurious paper. The string accompaniment is intended to be played as a string orchestra, however the divisi in this edition are written so that they can be played by one player should the need arise for a performance with one player on a part. The set of parts is a standard B set: 4/4/3/3/2 - all parts and score are included. See our other items for the solo part and piano accompaniment - these parts are compatible, as both are transcribed from the autograph.
