Eurosonic Orchestra strings have been popular in Europe for several years, but are relatively new to the US market. We are honored to be one of very few stocking dealers, and we're also big fans. They are extremely impressive especially in their very moderate price range, and we have been using them on newly set-up instruments, as well as highly recommending them for school instruments, due to their clear (not scratchy) sound and long life.
Construction is a steel-rope core, with chromesteel winding. They are perhaps more similar to Spirocore strings than any other we can think of, though they're not exactly the same. The light gauge is the most versatile, actually more like a regular or medium gauge in other brands, while the "medium" gauge is heavier and stiffer than most. Both tend to make basses sound loud and clear without being overly bright. Overtones and harmonics are clear, and string crossings are clean and easy to achieve, without being scratchy with the bow.
