The latest in the 'Realist' line of pickups for the double bass, the Lifeline is a piezo transducer which installs between the bridge adjuster and the bridge leg, allowing in many cases the bassist to install the pickup unassisted, and to move the pickup between basses. The design of the Lifeline requires the subject bridge to already be fitted with height adjusters, and it fits adjusters that are between 1/4" and 3/8" diameter. Please note that if your bridge is fitted with larger-diameter adjusters, such as 7/16" composite or wood adjusters, the Lifeline won't fit around your adjuster and therefore won't be compatible with your bridge. You'll need to determine the exact diameter of the threaded and non-threaded pin portion of your adjusters before ordering this pickup. The Lifeline promises to be a practical choice in bass pickups, and comes from a popular line.
