One of the most popular concerti for progressing bassists, this cheerful and melodic work by Giambattista Cimador (1761 - 1805) is a staple in the repertoire. Cimador, a violinist, pianist and composer, resided in England during Haydn's tenure there, and, coincidentally, taught composition to fellow violinist/composer Felipe Libon, whose etude book we also feature. Notably, Cimador published numerous arranged Mozart operatic arias with piano reduction and chamber editions of Mozart symphonies.
