Gabriel Fauré - SICILIENNE, Op. 78 for String Bass and Piano (Editor, Zimmermann)
Piano and Bass in G minor.
The Sicilienne was composed in 1873. It was arranged in 1898 for cello and piano and later that same year incorporated in Faure's "Pelleas et Melisande". In 1909 Faure arranged and presented the final version of The Sicilienne for full orchestra in his four-movement "Pelleas et Melisande Suite".
Holding true to the typical compound meter and minor key elements of a sicilienne, this piece is in 6/8 and G minor.
This is the Double Bass version transcribed by Fred Zimmermann.
